Information about WCCC’s Early Childhood Program:
- Licensed for 79 children each day by Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care
- Serves children ages 3 months through the year before kindergarten
- Two infant, two toddler, three preschool classrooms
- Located on the campus of Wellesley College
- Hours of operation: 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
- Open 50 weeks a year (Closed the week between Christmas and New Years and one staff preparation week before the beginning of each school year.)
- Professional teaching staff. All with Masters, Bachelors, or Associates Degrees in Early Childhood Education or related degrees.
APPLICATION PROCESS: Each year, we begin accepting applications on September 1 for the following September. There is a $40 fee to apply. Applications are used as our waiting list in the event that someone leaves during the year.
OPEN HOUSES: We have three OPEN HOUSES each year, which will be posted on our calendar. Generally, we have one the week before school starts in September, one in October, and a final one in January.
ENROLLMENT: Once offered a spot, parents can elect a 10-month contract (September through June) or a 12-month contract (September through August.) In the infant and toddler rooms, there are 2, 3, or 5-day option for enrollment. In the preschool rooms, the options are 3, 4, or 5 days. Parents set an arrival and departure schedule that matches their needs.

FINANCIAL AID: Wellesley College provides $25,000 in financial aid to college employees whose children are enrolled at the Early Childhood Program. Application process is confidential. A committee of people not associated with either college reviews applications. Parents who believe they may qualify for financial aid should check the Department of Early Education and Care Web site. WCCC offers some need based financial aid. Parents who qualify for state vouchers must provide documentation that they are on the state list before applying for financial aid from WCCC. Information about WCCC’s After School Program:

- Serves kindergarten through 5th grade children attending the Wellesley Public Schools
- For the 2018-19 school year WCCC operates the following after school sites:
- Bates School (serves kindergarten – 2nd grade children from Bates, Hunnewell, and Upham)
- Fiske School (serves kindergarten – 5th grade children from Fiske)
- Hardy School (serves kindergarten – 5th grade children from Hardy)
- Schofield School (serves kindergarten – 5th grade children from Schofield)
- Sprague School (serves kindergarten – 3rd grade children from Sprague)
- Upham School (serves 3rd – 5th grade children from Upham, Bates and Hunnewell and 4th & 5th from Sprague)
- Hours of Operation
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 3 to 6, Wednesday 12 to 6
- WCCC offers vacation programming on non-federal or state holidays when schools are closed and some days during the February and April vacation weeks.
APPLICATION PROCESS: Applications are accepted throughout the year and children are enrolled, as openings are available. Download our after school application form.
ENROLLMENT: In our After School Program, we enroll by blocks. A block is the three-hour period from 12 to 3 or from 3 to 6. We require parents to sign a contract for a minimum of two blocks per week, which must be on two separate days. Because every Wednesday is an early dismissal day for elementary students, a full time schedule is 6 blocks each week.
